What to do in autumn on Lake Garda: 8 suggestions

September and October are a great opportunity to visit our lake. Autumn brings with it the magical charm of its warm colours, lots of views where you can admire the 'foliage', milder temperatures and many initiatives that animate the villages finally free from summer traffic.
An opportunity to go trekking with the whole family then! Wear your hiking boots and immerse yourself in nature along paths where breath-taking views of Lake Garda await you. The mild temperatures will make your walks along the lakefront more pleasant, a blessing for body and mind!
Not only trekking but also an experience for the palate! In fact, in the autumn period many enogastronomic initiatives frame our landscape, offering unique moments in contact with our traditions!

Here are our suggestions for you!

Where you can admire the foliage:
Obviously around our AgriCamping Oasi del Garda, which is immersed in the morainic hills of Lake Garda and loved by our painter friends, who you will soon see on the edge of the blue cycle path just outside the AgriCamping and leading to the village of Lazise, immortalising nature's fascinating change of colours!
In the nearby Parco Giardino Sigurtà in Valeggio (only 13 km away), a beautiful botanical and naturalistic park known throughout the world, which thanks to its varied vegetation and endless green spaces will provide you with unforgettable shots!
In the nearby Valpolicella, which offers emotions for all the senses! From the view of the beautiful valleys, to the scent of grape must from the harvest, to the countless wine cellars where you can taste Italy's most famous wines.

Trekking and biking:
The recently upgraded Sentiero del Ponale is one of the most popular destinations on Lake Garda, which offers spectacular views of the Benaco. It is 10 km long and connects Riva del Garda with Val di Ledro and can be walked, cycled or mountain-biked.
The Busatte-Tempesta panoramic path in Torbole is a semi-flat trail suitable for everyone. At 4 km long, it is a woodland path that immediately offers breath-taking panoramic views of the upper Lake Garda. The walk includes a staircase of 400 steps that accompany almost the entire path.

Food and wine events for all palates!
When it comes to food and good wine, Lake Garda doesn't miss anything! The entire Veronese shore is full of events every weekend and for all tastes. We would like to point out two of the most famous.
The Bardolino Grape and Wine Festival from 29th September to 3rd October on the lakeside, now in its 91st edition, pays homage to the wine that is the symbol of the area. A full calendar of events will accompany these four days of good wine, typical dishes and music.
Festa del Marrone di San Zeno di Montagna, which takes place every year during the chestnut harvest between the end of October and the beginning of November, where you can taste the festival's main dish, namely minestrone di marroni.

Wellness and relaxation
And if you prefer enjoying “dolce far niente” and pampering you in the thermal waters of Lake Garda, the Verona Aquardens spa is the right choice for a romantic getaway in complete relaxation.
